National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day

Celebrate with us the first Saturday in February!

Did you know that February 3rd, 2024 is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day? The day gets its roots from the 1960s when a New York mom needed to keep the kids entertained on a snowy morning. More than 60 years later, we’ve got the perfect recipe for you to do the same – and sneak a bit of nutrition into the morning as well! Our Maola Berry Smooth Ice Cream recipe is not only incredibly delicious but also packed with the goodness of milk and fruits. It’s a delightful treat that you can enjoy the special day with – but also a year-round enjoyable snack.

Ingredients

2 cups Maola Whole Milk
2 large frozen bananas (remove peel first)
16-20 frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 tablespoon honey (more for a sweeter taste)

Equipment

Blender or food processor

Spatula

Instructions

  1. Start with the Maola Milk in the blender or food processor. Add the two bananas and blend
  2. Add the strawberries. Then blend. You may need to do this twice if your blender can’t handle the entire amount of frozen strawberries at once.
  3. Add the blueberries. Then blend.
  4. Finish off with the honey. Blend one more time.

Note: In between blends, you may need to use a spatula along the edges of the blender to make sure fruit is fully incorporated.

The Maola Berry Smooth Ice Cream will be quite thick, but should have the consistency of soft serve. If you prefer a more hand-scooped experience, you can put the finished blended result in the freezer for 2-4 hours before serving.
