Taking Care of Our Planet Together

Did you know when you pick up a carton of Maola milk, you’re doing a lot more than just getting some tasty milk for your cereal? You’re helping our planet and supporting our local family farmers who are working hard to take care of the Earth, not just today on Earth Day, but every single day of the year.

Our Maola farmers have invested more than $77 million from partnerships with groups like the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to make sure their farms are good neighbors to nature.

Today, Maola dairy farms use 30% less water, 21% less land and a 19% smaller carbon footprint than they did in 2007. An environmental sustainability tool found that Maola farms emitted 16.8% less than the national average between January 2023 and January 2024

“It starts with the farmer,” said Maola dairy farmer Molly Elgin McWilliams. “And so when our farmers can say, ‘Hey, this is what we’re doing, we have these practices in place,’ it puts our best foot forward.”

Some of those practices include cover crops, no-till farming, and riparian buffers.

So, every time you enjoy Maola milk, remember, you’re not just having a delicious drink. You’re part of a team with our local farmers, working together to keep our planet a better place.
