Meet Charlie B.

If you’ve been following along on our blog, you may be familiar by now with some of the faces of our family farmers that work hard to produce our delicious dairy. This Black History Month, however, we put the spotlight on Maola Account Manager, Charlie, a dedicated and passionate sales manager who has been in the dairy business for 42 years. Charlie started his dairy career in 1996 with Maola as a route driver and sales rep, before returning in 2017 to rejoin the sales department. When deciding to return, an important factor that Charlie considered was that his employer matched his level of commitment to customers and passion for quality.

One of Charlie’s favorite things about working for Maola is the support leadership provides its customers and retail stores any way they can. Working for Maola has given Charlie the ability to go above and beyond for his customers, resolving issues quickly and without hesitation. From visiting customers personally to ensuring local stores are properly stocked, Charlie feels empowered to help in any way he can. He is in constant contact with his customers, stores, and his specialty area: schools! Charlie oversees Maola production for school systems in various parts of North Carolina, ensuring that students always have healthy milk options available.

The camaraderie between the tight-knit sales team is another reason Charlie says staying with Maola was the right decision for him, “I feel comfortable picking up the phone and knowing I can call anyone on the team. Everyone jumps in to help each other.” No matter how busy their schedules may be, Charlie emphasizes how well everyone works together and most importantly, how dedicated they are to top-level customer service and quality milk.

Reflecting on his career, Charlie is noticeably clear on how he wants to be remembered. “I want people to know that I was honest, I did the best I could to solve any problem, and a person they could rely on.” Charlie’s dedication to putting his customers first makes all the difference, and we are proud to have him as a part of our family here at Maola.
