Every day, milk plays an important role in school cafeterias, helping give students access to 13 essential nutrients as part of their school meals. On World School Milk Day, Maola Local Dairies® is celebrating the students, families, educators, and school nutrition professionals who make milk part of their school day.
As a farmer-owned dairy cooperative, Maola is proud to partner with schools throughout the communities we serve. But our commitment goes beyond delivering milk. We also want to help students learn more about dairy, where their milk comes from, and the local farm families behind it.
That’s why we’ve created fun, interactive resources that bring dairy education to life.
Dairy Education Made Fun
This World School Milk Day, celebrated on September 30th this year, students can test their dairy knowledge with Maola’s Milk Facts Fortune Teller. Inspired by the classic folded-paper game, the nostalgic fortune teller combines dairy facts with activities and challenges designed to make learning about milk a little more fun. The concept was developed specifically as an interactive activity for World School Milk Day.
Families and educators can also explore Maola’s From the Farm to You! Activity & Coloring Book. Alongside Mooella, kids can follow milk’s journey from the farm through processing and delivery while completing coloring pages, a maze, word search, and other activities.
The activities also introduce students to milk nutrition, including the protein, calcium, and other essential nutrients found in a glass of milk.
